Huzayl bin Shurahbil says: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Whoever intends the Hereafter harms the world, and whoever intends the world harms his Hereafter, and I instruct these people to bear the loss of what is perishing (the world) for the sake of what remains (the Hereafter)." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) also said: "You are in a time in which scholars are many and orators are few, givers are many and askers are few. So lengthen the prayer and keep the sermon short. Indeed, some eloquence is magic. After you there will come a time in which orators will be many, scholars few, askers many and givers few."
Al-Tabarani recorded it with two chains, and the narrators of one of them are the narrators of the Sahih, except Qays.
