وَعَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِنَّ الدُّنْيَا حُلْوَةٌ خَضِرَةٌ حُلْوَةٌ ، فَمَنِ اتَّقَى فِيهَا وَأَصْلَحَ فِي ذَلِكَ ، أَلَا وَهُوَ كَالْآكِلِ وَلَا يَشْبَعُ ، فَبُعْدُ النَّاسِ كَبُعْدِ الْكَوْكَبَيْنِ : أَحَدُهُمَا يَطْلُعُ بِالْمُشْرِقِ ، وَالْآخَرُ يَغِيبُ بِالْمَغْرِبِ " . رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِاخْتِصَارٍ كَثِيرٍ عَنْهُ ، وَفِيهِ الْمُثَنَّى بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the world is sweet and green. Whoever practises piety with regard to it and keeps it in good order (perhaps some words were not transmitted in the original text). Beware! His example is like that of an eater who is never satisfied. The distance between people is as great as the distance between two stars, one of which rises in the east and the other sets in the west."
Abu Ya'la recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it in a greatly abridged form; its chain contains al-Muthanna bin al-Sabbah, who is da'if (weak).
