Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (and asked him for something). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have nothing to give you right now, but take a loan, and when something comes to us we will pay it off for you." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Allah Almighty has not obliged you to do this. If you have something, then give it; and when you do not have anything, do not burden yourself." The narrator said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked what Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, and this could be seen in his blessed face. Then a man said: "O Messenger of Allah! May my father and mother be sacrificed for you! Keep giving, and do not fear any scarcity from the Owner of the Throne." The narrator said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled and said: "This is what I have been commanded."
Bazzar recorded it, and its chain contains Ishaq bin Ibrahim al-Hunayni, whom the majority declared da'if (weak), while Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy) and said: He makes mistakes.
