وَعَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " كَيْفَ أَنْتُمْ إِذَا غُدِيَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِجَفْنَةٍ ، وَرِيحَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِأُخْرَى ؟ " . قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا يَوْمَئِذٍ لَبِخَيْرٍ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " بَلْ أَنْتُمُ الْيَوْمَ خَيْرٌ " . رَوَاهُ أَبُو يَعْلَى ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُمْ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What will your condition be when one bowl is brought to you in the morning and another bowl is brought to you in the evening?" The people said: "O Messenger of Allah! Will we be better off at that time?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Rather, you are better today."
