وَعَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ : بَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَخْطُبُ إِذْ قَامَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فِيهِ جَفَاءٌ فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَكَلَتْنَا الضَّبُعُ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " غَيْرُ ذَلِكَ أَخْوَفُ لِي عَلَيْكُمْ ، حِينَ تُصَبُّ عَلَيْكُمُ الدُّنْيَا صَبًّا ، فَيَا لَيْتَ أُمَّتِي لَا تَلْبَسُ الذَّهَبَ " . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالْبَزَّارُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ . وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ وَغَيْرُهُ فِي كِتَابِ الزِّينَةِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) states: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon when a Bedouin with some harshness in his manner stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah, drought has devoured us!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I fear something other than this more for you: when the world is poured out upon you. Would that my Ummah would not wear gold at that time!"
