Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
"The Lord says: On the Day of Resurrection a servant's good deeds and his bad deeds will be brought, and they will be reckoned against one another. If even one good deed remains, Allah Almighty will admit that person into Paradise."
I asked: 'What if not even one good deed remains?' He recited this verse:
"These are the people from whom We will accept the good deeds they did, and We will overlook their bad deeds; they will be among the people of Paradise."
The narrator says: I said: 'What is your view concerning this saying of Allah Almighty:
"No soul knows what has been kept hidden for it of the coolness of the eyes"?'
He said: 'What is meant by this is the servant who does a deed that is hidden; Allah Almighty will keep his matter hidden on the Day of Resurrection, and then that person will see the coolness of the eyes.'
At-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain is jayyid (good).
