بَابُ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ لِأَهْلِ الْكَبَائِرِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَمَا جَاءَ فِيهِمْ .

عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : كُنَّا نُمْسِكُ عَنِ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ لِأَهْلِ الْكَبَائِرِ حَتَّى سَمِعْنَا نَبِيَّنَا - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ . وَقَالَ : " أَخَّرْتُ شَفَاعَتِي لِأَهْلِ الْكَبَائِرِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ جَيِّدٌ . قُلْتُ : قَدْ تَقَدَّمَ فِي أَوَائِلِ التَّوْبَةِ : بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْمُذْنِبِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ التَّوْحِيدِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Previously we used to refrain from seeking forgiveness for those who committed major sins, until we heard our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recite: "Indeed, Allah Almighty does not forgive that partners be associated with Him, and He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills." And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, I have deferred my intercession for those who commit major sins on the Day of Resurrection (that is, I have kept it in reserve)."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its chain is jayyid (good). (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Before this, at the beginning of the Book of Repentance, this chapter has passed: Chapter: What has been narrated concerning sinners from among the people of tawhid.
