بَابُ إِخْلَاصِ التَّوْبَةِ مِنَ الذَّنْبِ .

وَعَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : مَا مِنْ ذَنْبٍ إِلَّا وَأَنَا أَعْرِفُ تَوْبَتَهُ ، قِيلَ : وَمَا تَوْبَتُهُ ؟ قَالَ : أَنْ يَتْرُكَهُ ثُمَّ لَا يَعُودُ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِإِسْنَادٍ حَسَنٍ .
Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I know the repentance for every single sin. He was asked: What is its repentance? He said: That a man leaves it in such a way that he does not commit it (the sin) again.
Al-Tabarani recorded it with a hasan (good) chain.
