عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَا عَائِشَةُ ، إِنْ كُنْتِ أَلْمَمْتِ بِذَنْبٍ فَاسْتَغْفِرِي اللَّهَ ; فَإِنَّ التَّوْبَةَ مِنَ الذَّنْبِ النَّدَامَةُ وَالِاسْتِغْفَارُ " . قُلْتُ : فِي الصَّحِيحِ طَرَفٌ مِنْ أَوَّلِهِ . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْوَاسِطِيِّ ، وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .
Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Aishah, if you have committed a sin, then seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty, for repentance from sin is to feel remorse and to seek forgiveness."
Allamah al-Haythami says: I say: Part of the beginning of this narration is mentioned in the Sahih.
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Muhammad bin Yazid al-Wasiti, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
