Book of Supplications
بَابُ الْأَدْعِيَةِ الْمَأْثُورَةِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - الَّتِي دَعَا بِهَا ، وَعَلَّمَهَا .
Supplications transmitted from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) which he made and taught

اُردوEn
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - كَانَ يَقُولُ : " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ " .
Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite:
'Allahumma inni as'aluka ilman nafi'an, wa a'udhu bika min ilmin la yanfa''
(O Allah! I ask You for beneficial knowledge, and I seek Your refuge from knowledge that does not benefit.)
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
