Book of Supplications
بَابُ الْأَدْعِيَةِ الْمَأْثُورَةِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - الَّتِي دَعَا بِهَا ، وَعَلَّمَهَا .
Supplications transmitted from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) which he made and taught

اُردوEn
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : مَا صَلَّيْتُ وَرَاءَ نَبِيِّكُمْ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - إِلَّا سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ حِينَ انْصَرَفَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي خَطَئِي وَعَمْدِي ، اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي لِصَالِحِ الْأَعْمَالِ وَالْأَخْلَاقِ ; إِنَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي لِصَالِحِهَا وَلَا يَصْرِفُ سَيِّئَهَا إِلَّا أَنْتَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ وُثِّقُوا .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Whenever I prayed behind your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I always heard him (peace and blessings be upon him), after finishing the prayer, making this supplication:
'Allahumma ighfir li khata'i wa 'amdi, Allahumma ihdini li salihi al-a'mali wa al-akhlaq, innahu la yahdi li salihiha wa la yasrifu sayyi'aha illa anta' (O Allah, forgive my mistakes and what I did deliberately. O Allah, guide me to righteous deeds and good character, for none but You can guide to the good of them (that is, of character and deeds), and none but You can turn away the bad of them (that is, of character and deeds)).
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
