Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite:
'Allahumma ahsanta khalqi fa ahsin khuluqi' (O Allah, You have made my outward form good, so make my character good as well).
Ahmad recorded it, and Abu Ya'la also recorded it, but he transmitted these words:
"So make my character good as well" (that is, the Arabic word differs but the meaning is the same). The narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Awsajah bin al-Rammah, who is thiqah (trustworthy).
