Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ascended the pulpit and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Amin, Amin, Amin. It was said: "O Messenger of Allah! You did not do this before." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibril said: 'May the nose of the person be rubbed in dust upon whom the month of Ramadan comes and who is then not forgiven; and may the nose of the person be rubbed in dust (the narrator is in doubt, or perhaps the words are:) may he be distanced, who reaches his parents, or one of them, and still does not enter Paradise.' Then he said: 'That servant (the narrator is in doubt, or perhaps the words are:) may the nose of that person be rubbed in dust (the narrator is in doubt, or perhaps the words are:) may he be distanced, before whom you (peace and blessings be upon him) are mentioned and who does not send blessings upon you (peace and blessings be upon him).' (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:) So I said: Amin!"
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: In the 'Sahih' only that part of this report is mentioned which concerns treating parents well.
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains Kathir bin Zayd al-Aslami, whom a group declared thiqah (trustworthy), and there is weakness in him; the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
