Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the pulpit. When he climbed the first step he said: Amin. When he climbed the second step he said: Amin. When he climbed the third step he said: Amin. When he came down from the pulpit and had finished, we said: "O Messenger of Allah! Today we have heard words from you that we had not heard before." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Did you hear it?" The people said: "Yes!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When I climbed the first step, Jibril appeared before me and said: 'May that person be distanced who finds his parents, or one of them, in old age and then does not enter Paradise (by serving them).'" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "So I said: Amin. Jibril said: 'May that person be distanced before whom you are mentioned and who does not send blessings upon you.' So I said: Amin. Jibril said: 'May that person be distanced who reaches the month of Ramadan and is then not forgiven.' So I said: Amin!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are 'thiqat' (trustworthy).
