Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ascended the pulpit and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Amin, Amin, Amin. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) came down from the pulpit, he (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about this, and he said: "Jibril came to me and said: 'May the nose of the person be rubbed in dust who reaches the month of Ramadan and is then not forgiven. Say Amin.' So I said: Amin. (Then he said:) 'May the nose of the person be rubbed in dust before whom you are mentioned and who does not send blessings upon you. Say Amin.' So I said: Amin. (Then he said:) 'May the nose of the person be rubbed in dust who reaches his parents, or one of them, and is then not forgiven. Say Amin.' So I said: Amin." The narrator states: These are the words, or words similar to them.
Al-Bazzar recorded it from his teacher Muhammad bin Hawan, and I do not know him; the remaining narrators of this report have been declared trustworthy, though there is disagreement about the narrator named Qays bin al-Rabi'.
