Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 17225

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "A servant seeks some need, and Allah Almighty turns that (need) away from that servant, because doing so is better for that servant; then he accuses people, wronging them, and says: 'Who came to my aid?'"
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration; its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Ghafur Abu al-Sabbah, and he is matruk (abandoned).
