Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty says to the son of Adam: O son of Adam! There are three things: one is for Me, one is for you, and one is between Me and you. As for the one that is for Me, it is that you worship Me and do not associate anyone as a partner with Me. As for the one that is for you, it is that whatever deed you do, I will recompense you for it; and if I forgive, then I am the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful. As for the one that is between Me and you, from you is the supplicating and the asking, and upon Me is the answering of the supplication and the giving."
Imam al-Bazzar recorded this narration through Humayd bin al-Rabi' from Ali bin Asim, and both of them are da'if (weak), though both of them have also been declared trustworthy. A hadith of this kind, narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), has already passed before this in the Book of Faith, in the chapter on the right of Allah Almighty over His servants.
