Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): He passed by some people who were halting on their mounts. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: "Ride them while they are sound, and leave them while they are sound, and do not make them into chairs for your conversations with one another in the roads and markets, for sometimes a mount is better than its rider, and (that mount) remembers Allah more than he (i.e. the rider) does."
Ahmad recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).
