Abu Tamimah al-Hujaymi narrates from the man who was riding behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); he says: I was riding behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on a donkey. The donkey stumbled, and I said: "May the devil be ruined!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not say, 'May the devil be ruined,' for if you say, 'May the devil be ruined,' the devil considers himself great and says, 'I threw him down by my strength.'" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "But if you say 'Bismillah', the devil becomes small in his own estimation, until he becomes even smaller than a fly."
Ahmad recorded it with various chains, and all its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
