Sayyiduna Buraydah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Hamzah! When you go to bed, what do you recite? He replied: I recite such-and-such. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: O Ali! What do you recite? He replied: I recite such-and-such. The narrator says: I think the report contains these words: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you go to your bed, recite:
'Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi manna 'alayya wa afdal, alhamdu lillahi rabbil-'alamin, rabbi kulli shay', wa ilahi kulli shay', a'udhu bika minan-nar' (All praise belongs to Allah alone, who has done me favour and been gracious to me. All praise belongs to Allah alone, the Lord of the worlds, the Lord of everything and the God of everything. I seek refuge in You from Hell).
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Yahya bin Kathir Abu al-Nadr, who is da'if (weak).
