It is reported about Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the interpretation of this verse: "To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No one before you has asked me about it. Its explanation is: 'There is no deity except Allah Almighty; Allah Almighty is the Greatest; Allah Almighty is free of every imperfection and to Him alone belongs all praise; I seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty; and nothing can happen without the help of Allah Almighty, who is the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden; all good is in His hand; He gives life and He gives death, and He has power over all things.'" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites these words ten times in the morning will be given 10 merits. The first merit is that he will be protected from Iblis and his armies. The second is that he will be given a qintar of reward. The third is that he will be raised one degree in Paradise. The fourth is that he will be married to the wide-eyed maidens of Paradise. The fifth is that twelve thousand angels will be present at it (this phrase). The sixth is that this person will receive as much reward as the one who has read the Qur'an, the Torah, the Gospel and the Psalms. And along with this, O Uthman, he will receive a reward like that of the one who performed Hajj and Umrah and whose Hajj and Umrah were accepted. And if that person dies on that day, the seal of the martyrs will be placed upon him."
Abu Ya'la recorded it in al-Kabir; its chain contains al-Aghlab bin Tamim, who is da'if (weak).
