Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite this in the morning:
'Asbahtu wa asbahal-mulku lillah, wal-kibriya'u wal-'azamatu wal-khalqu wal-laylu wan-naharu wa ma sakana fihima lillahi wahdahu la sharika lah, Allahummaj'al awwala hadhan-nahari wa awsatahu falahan, wa akhirahu najahan, as'aluka khayrad-dunya wal-akhirati ya arhamar-rahimin' "I have entered the morning, and the dominion of Allah Almighty has also entered the morning. Grandeur, majesty, creation, the night, the day and whatever dwells in them all belong to Allah Almighty, who is One and has no partner. O Allah, make the beginning and the middle of this day a means of success and its end a means of achievement. I ask You for the good of this world and the Hereafter, O Most Merciful of those who show mercy."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Abu al-Warqa', who is matruk (abandoned).
