Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite these words in the morning and in the evening:
'Asbahna wa asbahal-mulku lillah, la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, Allahumma inna nas'aluka khayra hadhal-yawmi wa khayra ma ba'dahu, wa na'udhu bika min sharri hadhal-yawmi wa sharri ma ba'dahu, Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min su'il-kibar, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhabin-nar'
"We have entered the morning, and the dominion of Allah Almighty has also entered the morning. There is no deity except Allah Almighty; He alone is the deity, He has no partner. O Allah, we ask You for the good of this day and the good of what comes after it, and we seek refuge with You from the evil of this day and the evil of what comes after it. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the evil of old age (or arrogance), and I seek refuge with You from the punishment of Hell."
Al-Tabarani recorded it via Ghassan bin al-Rabi' from Abu Isra'il al-Mula'i; weakness predominates in both of them, though both have been declared trustworthy. The remaining narrators of this narration are the narrators of the Sahih.
