Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in my house and evening came, I used to hear him recite:
'Amsayna wa amsal-mulku lillah, wal-hamdu lillah, wal-hawlu wal-qudratu was-sultanu fis-samawati wal-ard, wa kullu shay'in lillahi rabbil-'alamin, Allahumma bika asbahna, wa bika amsayna, wa bika nahya, wa bika namutu, wa ilaykan-nushur'
"We have entered the evening, and the dominion of Allah Almighty has also entered the evening. Might, strength and power, and authority in the heavens and the earth and over everything, belong to Allah Almighty alone, the Lord of all the worlds. O Allah, by Your help we enter the morning and by Your help we enter the evening; by Your help we live, and by Your command, and to You alone we shall be raised."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains al-Hakam bin Abdullah bin Sa'd al-Ayli, who is matruk (abandoned).
