Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 16948

Sayyiduna Imam Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard my maternal grandfather, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), say: "Whatever servant performs the morning prayer and then sits remembering Allah until the sun rises, this deed will become a protection for him from Hell."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains al-Hasan bin Abi Ja'far al-Jafri, who is weak with respect to his memory but in himself is saduq (truthful); the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
