Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 16730

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنَّ رَسُو‌لَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا النَّاسُ كَالْإِبِلِ الْمِائَةِ لَا يُوجَدُ فِيهَا رَاحِلَةٌ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ الطَّبَرَانِيَّ قَالَ : رَوَاهُ مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، وَهُوَ الصَّحِيحُ . قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ كَمَا قَالَ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "People are like 100 camels among which not one fit for riding is found."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih; however, al-Tabarani said: Ma'mar narrated it from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father, and that is what is correct. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This report is in the Sahih just as al-Tabarani stated.
