Hayyan bin Bistam al-Hudhali states: We were with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). People mentioned the pilgrims of Yemen and their conduct during the Hajj, and some of those present spoke ill of them. So Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Do not speak ill of the people of Yemen! For I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'The adornment of the pilgrims is the people of Yemen.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its chain is hasan (good); its chain contains some weak narrators who have been declared trustworthy.
