Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) states: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to send me to Yemen, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It may be that you will later pass by my grave and my mosque. I am sending you to a people whose hearts are soft, and who fight for the truth twice. Fight, together with those of them who obey you, against those who disobey you. Then they will return to Islam, until (in accepting Islam) the woman will race ahead of her husband, the child ahead of his father, and the brother ahead of his brother. Settle between the two tribes, al-Sakun and al-Sakasik."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani recorded it, and the narrators of both are thiqat (trustworthy), except that the narrator Yazid bin Qutayb did not hear from Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him).
