وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " غِلَظُ الْقُلُوبِ وَالْجَفَاءُ فِي أَهْلِ الْمَشْرِقِ ، وَالْإِيمَانُ يَمَانٌ ، وَالسَّكِينَةُ فِي أَهْلِ الْحِجَازِ " .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ بِاخْتِصَارِ أَهْلِ الْحِجَازِ . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، وَفِيهِ خِلَافٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
قُلْتُ : هُوَ فِي الصَّحِيحِ بِاخْتِصَارِ أَهْلِ الْحِجَازِ . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، وَفِيهِ خِلَافٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hardness of hearts and harshness of temperament are among the people of the East; faith is Yemeni; and tranquility (sakinah) is among the people of the Hijaz."
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This report is transmitted in the "Sahih" with the mention of the people of the Hijaz left out.
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Abi al-Zinad, about whom there is disagreement. The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
This report is transmitted in the "Sahih" with the mention of the people of the Hijaz left out.
Al-Bazzar recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Abi al-Zinad, about whom there is disagreement. The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
