وَعَنْ بِنْتِ أَبِي لَهَبٍ قَالَتْ : مَرَّ بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَاسْتَسْقَى ، فَقُمْتُ إِلَى كُوزٍ فَسَقَيْتُهُ ، فَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَلَيْهِ ثَوْبَانِ أَخْضَرَانِ ، فَقَالَ : " تَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا ، وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ ، وَتُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ " . ثُمَّ قَالَ : " خَيْرُ أُمَّتِي قَرْنِي ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ مَنْ لَمْ يُسَمَّ .
The daughter of Abu Lahab narrates: Once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by us and asked for something to drink. I went to a cup and offered it to him to drink. A man who was wearing two green garments asked him a question, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You should worship Allah Almighty, not associate anything with Him, establish the prayer and pay the zakah." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best of my Ummah is my generation, and then those who come after them."
