وَعَنْ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ مَخْلَدٍ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " سَبَقَ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ النَّاسَ بِأَرْبَعِينَ خَرِيفًا ، يَتَنَعَّمُونَ فِيهَا ، وَالنَّاسَ مَحْبُوسُونَ لِلْحِسَابِ ، ثُمَّ تَكُونُ الزُّمْرَةُ الثَّانِيَةُ مِائَةَ خَرِيفٍ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Maslamah bin Mukhallad (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Muhajirun will precede the rest of the people by forty years; during those forty years they will be enjoying blessings while the people are held back for the reckoning. Then the second group will be (ahead by) one hundred years."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Rahman bin Malik, whom I do not know; the remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
