بَابٌ فِيمَنْ ذَكَرَ لَهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ اسْمًا أَوْ كُنْيَةً .

- وَقَالَ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ : [ بَشِيرُ بِنُ الْخَصَاصِيةَ السُّدُوسِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ] بَشِيرُ بْنُ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ شَرَاحِيلَ بْنِ سَبُعِ بْنِ ضُبَارَةَ بْنِ سَدُوسٍ ، كَانَ اسْمُهُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ زَحْمًا ، فَسَمَّاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بَشِيرًا . قُلْتُ : عِنْدَ أَبِي دَاوُدَ بَعْضُهُ .
Imam al-Tabarani said: Sayyiduna Bashir bin al-Khasasiyah al-Sadusi (may Allah be pleased with him) — he is Sayyiduna Bashir bin Ma'bad bin Sharahil bin Sabu' bin Dubarah bin Sadus. In the Jahiliyyah his name was "Zahm", and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) named him "Bashir". (Allamah al-Haythami said:) I say: Imam Abu Dawud recorded part of this narration.
