Sayyiduna A'idh bin Sa'id al-Jisri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We came as a delegation to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I said: O Messenger of Allah! May my father be sacrificed for you; pass your hand over my face and supplicate for blessing for me. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed his hand over my face and supplicated for blessing for me. His wife, Sayyidah Umm al-Banin (may Allah be pleased with her), says: I saw that whenever he woke from sleep, his face looked as if oil had been applied to it, even if he had made do with only a few dates.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ya'qub bin Muhammad al-Zuhri, whom the majority declared da'if (weak), though he has also been declared trustworthy; and its chain contains narrators whom I do not know.
