Sayyiduna Rabah bin al-Rabi' bin Muraqqa' bin Sayfi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We took part in a campaign with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave one camel to every three of us; two would ride it and one would drive it along. This went on in the desert. Meanwhile, once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me while I was walking on foot. He said to me: O Rabah! I see that you are walking on foot. I said: I have only just dismounted a little while ago, and now these two companions of mine are riding. Then I passed by my companions; they had made their camel kneel and had dismounted from it. When I reached them, the two of them said: Ride on the front part of this camel, and you will remain on the front part until you return; I and my other companion will sit behind. I asked: Why is that? They said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Your companion is a righteous man; you are to treat him well.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Sufyan bin Waki', who is extremely da'if (weak), and it has been said about him: he is saduq (truthful); the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
