Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 16156

Sayyiduna A'idh bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was struck by an arrow while I was fighting in front of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); this was on the occasion of the Battle of Khaybar. The arrow struck my face. When the blood came flowing over my face and chest, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) extended his blessed hand towards me, wiped the blood from my face and my chest, and then supplicated for me. A narrator named Hashraj says: Sayyiduna A'idh (may Allah be pleased with him) used to tell us this during his lifetime. When he died and we washed him, we examined the place about which we had learned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had passed his blessed hand over it, about which Sayyiduna A'idh (may Allah be pleased with him) had told us that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had passed his hand over his chest; and at that spot there was a brightness like the blaze on a horse.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain contains narrators whom I do not know.
