وَعَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ : تُوُفِّيَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ وَاسْتَخْلَفَ ابْنَ عَمِّهِ : عِيَاضَ بْنَ تَمِيمٍ الْفِهْرِيَّ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ مُرْسَلًا ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Al-Zuhri says: When Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah bin al-Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) died, he appointed his paternal cousin, Sayyiduna Iyad bin Tamim al-Fihri (may Allah be pleased with him), as his successor.
