Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 16107

Sayyiduna al-Talibb (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he came into the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and submitted: "O Messenger of Allah! Pray for forgiveness for me." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I will do so when permission is given." The narrator says: Then as much time passed as Allah willed; then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called him, passed his blessed hand over his face, and made this supplication: "O Allah! Forgive al-Talibb and have mercy on him!" He said these words three times.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Two people have narrated from the narrator Milqam bin al-Talibb, and the rest of its narrators have been declared trustworthy.
