وَعَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ الدُّؤَلِيِّ قَالَ : قَدِمْتُ الْبَصْرَةَ وَبِهَا أَبُو نُجَيْدٍ : عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ ، وَكَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ بَعَثَهُ يُفَقِّهُ أَهْلَ الْبَصْرَةِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .

Abu al-Aswad al-Du'ali narrates: I came to Basrah, and Sayyiduna Abu Nujayd Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) was there. Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) had sent him to teach and train the people of Basrah.
