بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي سَفِينَةَ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ -

وَعَنْ سَفِينَةَ قَالَ : كُنْتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ ، فَانْكَسَرَتْ سَفِينَتُنَا فَلَمْ نَعْرِفِ الطَّرِيقَ ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِالْأَسَدِ قَدْ عَرَضَ لَنَا ، فَتَأَخَّرَ أَصْحَابِي فَدَنَوْتُ مِنْهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : أَنَا سَفِينَةُ صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَقَدْ أَضْلَلْنَا الطَّرِيقَ ، فَمَشَى بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ حَتَّى أَوْقَفَنَا عَلَى الطَّرِيقِ ، ثُمَّ تَنَحَّى وَدَفَعَنِي كَأَنَّهُ يُرِينِي الطَّرِيقَ ، فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ يُوَدِّعُنَا .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِنَحْوِهِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : فَانْكَسَرَتْ سَفِينَتِي الَّتِي كُنْتُ فِيهَا ، فَرَكِبْتُ لَوْحًا مِنْ أَلْوَاحِهَا فَطَرَحَنِي اللَّوْحُ فِي أَجَمَةٍ فِيهَا الْأَسَدُ ، فَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيَّ يُرِيدُنِي ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَا سَفِينَةُ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَطَأْطَأَ رَأْسَهُ وَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيَّ فَدَفَعَنِي بِمِنْكَبِهِ . وَالْبَاقِي بِنَحْوِهِ .
رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِنَحْوِهِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : فَانْكَسَرَتْ سَفِينَتِي الَّتِي كُنْتُ فِيهَا ، فَرَكِبْتُ لَوْحًا مِنْ أَلْوَاحِهَا فَطَرَحَنِي اللَّوْحُ فِي أَجَمَةٍ فِيهَا الْأَسَدُ ، فَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيَّ يُرِيدُنِي ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَا سَفِينَةُ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - فَطَأْطَأَ رَأْسَهُ وَأَقْبَلَ إِلَيَّ فَدَفَعَنِي بِمِنْكَبِهِ . وَالْبَاقِي بِنَحْوِهِ .
Sayyiduna Safinah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was at sea and our ship broke apart, and we did not know the way. Meanwhile a lion appeared in front of us. My companions drew back, and I went close to it. I said: "I am 'Safinah,' a Companion of the Messenger of Allah. We have lost our way." So the lion walked ahead of us until it brought us to the road. Then it moved to one side and gave me the chance to go forward, as if it were showing me the way, and I realised that it was about to take leave of us.
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded something similar, except that he reported these words: "The ship I was on broke apart. Then I climbed onto a plank, and that plank brought me to a forest in which there was a lion. It came towards me, intending to attack me. I said: 'O Abu al-Harith! I am "Safinah," the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah.' So it lowered its head, then came towards me and pushed me forward with its shoulder." The rest of the report is as before.
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded something similar, except that he reported these words: "The ship I was on broke apart.
