Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! Accept my counsel to treat Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) well, for he is trustworthy (amin) with the Book of Allah, and how excellent a trustee he is."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator Muhammad bin Fitr, whom I do not know, and a narrator Ali bin Sa'id al-Razi, in whom there is weakness. The remaining narrators of this report are the narrators of the Sahih.
