وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " جَدِّدُوا إِيمَانَكُمْ " . قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَكَيْفَ نُجَدِّدُ إِيمَانَنَا ؟ قَالَ : " أَكْثِرُوا مِنْ قَوْلِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ جَيِّدٌ ، وَفِيهِ سُمَيْرُ بْنُ نَهَارٍ وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Renew your faith!" It was said: "O Messenger of Allah! How should we renew our faith?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say 'La ilaha illallah' (there is no god but Allah) abundantly."
Ahmad recorded it, and its chain is jayyid (good). Its chain contains a narrator, Sumayr bin Nahar, whom Ibn Hibban (may Allah have mercy on him) declared thiqah (trustworthy).
