Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 15861

Mujahid said: When Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) took part in the Conquest of Makkah, he was twenty years old, and he had with him a stubborn horse and a heavy spear. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) went off to cut fresh grass for his horse, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Abdullah is a righteous man.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this report, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except that Mujahid narrated it as a "mursal" report.
