Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 15851

Imam al-Sha'bi states: Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said four takbirs in the funeral prayer of his mother. Then his mount was brought, and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) held his stirrup. Sayyiduna Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "Leave it." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "This is how we treat our senior scholars."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Razin al-Rummani, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
