Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abi Talhah narrates: Once Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) and his brother Sayyiduna al-Bara' bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) were near one of the enemy's fortresses. The enemy let down hooks on heated chains, and whoever got caught in them, they would hoist up towards themselves. Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) got caught in one of those hooks, and the enemy began to lift him until he was raised somewhat off the ground. Then his brother Sayyiduna al-Bara' (may Allah be pleased with him) came, and it was said to him: "Reach your brother!" At that time he was fighting the enemy. He came running until he leapt onto the wall, and then he seized the chain with his hand while it was turning. He kept pulling them; both his hands were burned, but he cut the rope. When he looked at his hands, his bones were visible and the flesh on them was gone. In this way Allah Almighty saved Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him).
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).
