عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ فِي تَسْمِيَةِ مَنْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، ثُمَّ مِنَ الْأَوْسِ ، ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي ظُفَرَ : قَتَادَةُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَوَادِ بْنِ كَعْبِ - وَكَعْبٌ ظُفَرُ - بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْأَوْسِ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ إِلَى ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ثِقَاتٌ .
Ibn Ishaq mentioned, among the names of those who took part in the Battle of Badr, Sayyiduna Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) bin al-Nu'man bin Zayd bin Amir bin Sawad bin Ka'b bin al-Khazraj bin Amr bin al-Aws, of the Ansar, from Banu Zafar, a branch of the tribe of Aws.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators up to Ibn Ishaq are thiqat (trustworthy).
