Muhammad bin Ishaq mentioned, among the names of those who took part in the Battle of Badr, Sayyiduna Umarah (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Hazm bin Lawdhan bin Amr bin Abd Awf bin Ghanm bin Malik bin al-Najjar, of the Ansar, from Banu al-Najjar, a branch of Banu al-Khazraj.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators up to Ibn Ishaq have been declared trustworthy. He also attributed to Ibn Ishaq that he mentioned, among the names of those of the Ansar who drank the cup of martyrdom in the Battle of Yamamah, Sayyiduna Umarah bin Hazm (may Allah be pleased with him).
