Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned from the campaign of Banu al-Mustaliq, the son of Abdullah bin Ubayy (his name was also Sayyiduna Abdullah) drew his sword against his father and said: "By Allah! It is binding upon me that I will not put this sword back in its sheath until you say that Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the honoured one and I am the abased one." So Abdullah bin Ubayy said: "Woe to you! Sayyiduna Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the honoured one, and I am the abased one." The narrator said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was told of this, he was pleased with it, and he thanked Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Abdullah (or praised him).
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Muhammad bin al-Hasan bin Zabalah, who is da'if (weak).
