Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: My father and my uncle were martyred, and my father owed a debt. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent for me and said: "O Jabir! Shall I not give you glad tidings coming from Allah and His Messenger? Indeed, Allah Almighty brought your father and your uncle back to life and appeared before them. The two of them asked their Lord to send them back to the world, and the Lord said: 'This cannot be, for I have already decreed in the Book that they will not be returned to the world.'"
(Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Al-Tirmidhi and others recorded it, but they did not mention Sayyiduna Jabir's uncle. Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Hammad bin Amr, who is kadhdhab (a liar).
