The Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Aishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her), said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): "O Jabir! Shall I not give you glad tidings?" He submitted: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah! It will be something good." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty brought your father back to life and seated him before Him, and said: 'Wish for whatever you want from Me, and I will grant it to you.' He submitted: 'O my Lord! We have not worshipped You as Your worship deserves. So I express this wish before You: that You return me to the world, so that I may fight alongside Your Prophet and be killed once again.' The Lord said to him: 'It has already been decreed by Me that you will not return to the world.'" (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
Al-Tirmidhi recorded it in abridged form. Al-Tabarani and al-Bazzar recorded it through al-Fayd bin Wathiq from Abu Ubadah al-Zuraqi, and both of them are da'if (weak).
