Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah bin Amr bin Haram (may Allah be pleased with him) said: My father ordered that "harirah" (a thin flour porridge) be prepared, and I prepared it. Then he instructed me, so I carried it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked me: "What is this? Is this meat?" I submitted: "No, O Messenger of Allah! My father ordered me to prepare harirah, so I prepared it; then he instructed me, so I carried it here." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Put it down!" I came to my father, and he asked: "What did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say to you?" I replied: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: 'O Jabir! What is this? Is this meat?'" The narrator said: My father said: "I think the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has a desire for meat." Then he got up and went to a goat, slaughtered it, and on his order it was cooked. Then he instructed me, and I brought its meat. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O assembly of the Ansar! May Allah Almighty reward you with good, especially the family of Amr bin Haram and Sa'd bin Ubadah (may He reward them with good)."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
